Tibet Suoxian photovoltaic + phase change energy storage multi-energy complementary project put into operation

On August 4, 2022, Hema New Energy Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CRRC Urban Transportation Co., Ltd., and Yangzhou Hongren Industrial Co., Ltd. signed a "Strategic Procurement Cooperation Agreement".

The phase change energy storage thermal pool project in the second primary school of Suo County, Tibet, provided by HeatMate New Energy, has recently been completed and put into operation. The school heating area is approximately 18,000 square meters. Due to the lack of thermal power plants and centralized heating sources in Suo County, there was previously no heating. The implementation of this project will greatly improve the quality of life for teachers and students, creating good living and learning conditions for them.

 

 

Tibet is seen by many as a place that purifies the soul. The high altitude brings breathtaking scenery, but also a cold environment. To protect this pure land and blue sky while ensuring warmth during winter, a completely clean heating solution must be adopted. Considering the abundant solar energy resources in the area, this project uses a multi-energy complementary heating solution combining photovoltaic, phase change energy storage, and air source heat pumps. The phase change energy storage thermal pool acts as the energy storage hub, regulating various energy sources to achieve optimal performance at appropriate times. The energy storage density of the phase change thermal pool is comparable to that of lithium batteries, and it features low cost, long lifespan, and high safety.

This project has installed 300 kW of photovoltaic modules on a 3061 m2 building rooftop, with an average annual power generation of 540,000 kWh. This not only significantly reduces operational costs during the heating season but also allows for electricity sales to the grid during non-heating seasons, generating revenue. The total power generation over 20 years can reach 10.8 million kWh, saving over 4,300 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 10,800 tons and sulfur dioxide emissions by over 320 tons.

In 2020, HeatMate New Energy provided over 100 phase change energy storage thermal pools for the solar thermal + phase change energy storage project in Angren County, Tibet. With the operation of this project, HeatMate New Energy's phase change energy storage technology will play a greater role in the clean heating efforts and the protection of the pure land and blue sky in the Tibetan Plateau.
